for the past four years francesco leali kept busy running parachute alongside co-owners manfredi romano and thomas feriero, producing under different monikers and touring the globe as half of cw/a. finally back as clockwork, leali reveals a five track ep featuring some of his rugged music to date. a briery shift into foggier territories where leali explores layered sound-design and broken rhythms, something he had only hinted in his previous work. online entity depicts lealis hindrance with modern societys social networking obsession. in contrast to what these services were actually intended for, leali explains, they seem to have impacted a lot of people negatively, resulting in unnecessary resentments, misinformation and feelings of proximity when these tools can easily alienate you from reality. constantly worrying about how you want people to perceive you is absurd already, but for many of us this constant sharing has become the only way to achieve happiness, to be satisfied. in an era where all of this is getting out of hand its essential to remind yourself of the things that truly shape you as an individual. with online entity i aimed for feelings of release, mutating resentments into something positive - more physical. i imagined it as a soundtrack to an escape from these very situations. the release showcases this approach with five club-ready numbers filled with calculated, pounding drums and gloomy atmospheres, with only rare glimpses of hope scattered throughout. to round things up we mobilised fellow parachute affiliate ayarcana and serbian techno pro lag who both deliver two startling interpretations of escape sequence and rumination.

what started as an idea 5 years ago now becomes reality with the release of saigon supersound vol.1, compiled by jan hagenkötter. a compilation about the story of a musical era in vietnam that was almost lost, made of tracks from 1965 to 1975, the so-called golden music period in the south of vietnam, where under difficult circumstances – a lively pop culture had developed. this period is characterized by the fusion of vietnamese music with western pop music. the compilation includes some tunes reissued for the very first time since they ve been released originally.

dissonance treads elegantly along a fine line between traditional symphonic organicism and the fissures of the faltering structures of reality. it takes forward sigurðsson’s typically expansive, panoramic writing, and elevates it to a perpetual construction and deconstruction of time and space.
these are hardly his first experiments with the archaic technology of classical instruments, but here the distance between past and present is precisely what the music itself is designed to explore, and to distort.

tenor singer johnny clarke had many false starts in his youthful days. hanging around studio one as a schoolboy with jacob miller, clarke was supposed to record material written for him by bob andy, but somehow never made the grade. his 1973 debut recording for lesser-known producer glen stair was not released, and early work for clancy eccles failed to hit, though ‘everyday wondering’ for rupie edwards made an underground impact in britain and new york. subsequent singles for keith hudson and glen brown also did not get very far, but the breakthrough finally came when bunny lee asked him to sing ‘none shall escape the judgement,’ which was written by the singer earl zero, it became a massive hit that launched the ‘flying cymbal’ craze (based on an open-and-closed high-hat cymbal pattern, adapted from the soul train theme), and clarke became one of lee’s most reliable hit-makers, partly because lee stoked a rivalry between him and cornell campbell, whom lee had previously asked to voice ‘none shall escape.’ clarke’s satisfaction lp was recorded at harry j for lee, voiced at king tubby’s studio, and issued by third world in 1979. it is a set largely comprised of cover tunes, such as the strong opening update of the paragons’ ‘riding for a fall,’ the title track adapting their rock steady hit ‘my satisfaction’ in a post-rockers style. better still is the hard-hitting ‘reality’ tune, ‘play fool, get wise,’ which uses a proverb to relate a means of avoiding trouble on the dog-eat-dog mean streets of kingston.

bosconi extra virgin is proud to launch the first vinyl release by japanese duo spangleman formed by tsukasa kato and ataru nishizaki. their brown ep is a 5 tracker of ultra minimalistic and sophisticated house jams!! first cut is -jimmy-, a broken swingy jazzy track with a deep aquatic rhodes and a slap bass, chasing each other all along the track, reminding some of the trimsound or tom ellis early works. second track of a side goes more straight into an hypnotic deep house track.. which still maintains it s jazzy approach with an original arrangement from beginning to end. the welcoming sound of -ubi-quitous- opens the b side, a broken dubby tune reminding early 90 s atmospheres a la nightmares on wax.. follows up the ultra dry deep after hour track -illusion- sounding like a real jazz jam with drums and contrabass where a quirky voice appearing from time to time, brings you back to reality! the ep ends with the freaky minimal chicagoish jam -chi this ma- , a puzzle of chopped voice and acid samples stuck together so well like only akufen could do.. hard to define a sound for this release, could be minimal, detroit jazzy house.. or more simply just gentleman s house music!

on the a side you can find “icebreaker” solely, an eccentric sound with a steady bassline, percussive kicks, tripping shakers and a thoughtful, mysterious melody that touches all the frequencies of your body. turning to the b side we find “swingenious”, a groovier interpretation produced by a combination of spacey feelings and sophisticated instruments that will move every bone on the dancefloor. closing the ep is “in memoriam”, a melancholic version that is not short of an aggressive bassline, ambiguous vocals and deep introspects, all aligned to disconnect you from the reality of routine.

nyc-based duo jasmine golestaneh and eddie cooper write songs through a telepathic kinship thevve developed since they started making music together. we have these sort of unspoken criteria when we re writing music. we never really need to explain what that is but we both know when it s missing or when we ve hit it. the pair, aka tempers, are set to release their fundamental fantasy ep via the vinyl factory on 24th february. creating an emotional and tonal tension of sensual and mechanical impulses, their brand of dark electronica sets haunting song writing to a sinister disco beat, pop melodies floating in an almost industrial soundscape. it follows the bands 2015 debut full-length services. fundamental fantasy is about exploring the creative scenery of romantic illusions. our need for them, how we justify them to ourselves, that moment when the imagined story line collides with reality. the ways we fictionalize people to fit into the narratives we have about love - to reflect our own beliefs, virtues and flaws. it is about celebrating fantasies swelling and getting undone, so we can pick up the pieces and craft new ones that serve us better tempers musically, fundamental fantasy is an evolution in both song writing and process, while still tracing a clear line to their earlier output. many of the eps melodies were born of live improvisation, which helped them create an instinctive, natural immediacy within their electronic arrangements. the cover of the ep depicts the duo on the volcanic island of stromboli, where they performed at the volcano extravaganza, an art and music festival curated by the vinyl factory.it is a perfect landscape to mirror the mood of ‘fundamental fantasy. a seemingly idyllic place that is isolated from the outside world.

tiga is back to tell you what youve always needed to hear with his new single eye luv u. co-produced by one half of paranoid london, the new single harnesses all the pure source energy of what enlightened club-goers often describe as their favourite emotion. the title came to me while i was playing a pyramid that had been converted into a multi-purpose event space, says the canadian dj/producer. the hieroglyphics over what is now the coat check made me imagine a world in which pictures could mean words and words could mean anything. the thing about wordplay is that its fascinating to conceive of different realities informed by different systems of meaning, and how each reality would invariably bend to vault me to the pinnacle of all possible worlds. its humbling, really.

in the last two years, paul régimbeau had put his most personal and earliest musical project mondkopf in stand-by mode. the rich arrangement work that defined his sound wasn’t fitting his desire of simplistic intensity anymore. his different collaborations (autrenoir, violent magic orchestra with vampilla & pete swanson, foudre!, oiseaux-tempêtes) forced him to explore new aspects of playing electronic music like a regular band member. the young producer was experimenting being a musician and embracing the experience. but after a year without composing, things changed on the tragic night of november 13th.
on this very night, the parisian set up machines he had acquired in the last few months and started improvising what became the first song on his new album: “they fall, but you don’t”. since that moment, paul regularly spent nights experimenting and recording what he felt at the time. while previous records reflected months of fine-tuning, these songs represent the mood of one evening, one night, the ones when you surrender yourself to the melancholy of the moment. much like a diary, the album is a compilation of these moments that escape reality in a chaotic and dark year.

second release comes from berlin based b.e.f., soaking you into a deep journey of the now. a repetetive meditation - forward pushing and hypnotising. b.e.f. has been a steady part of parallel berlin since a few years, so it s a logical next step to release his debut solo ep on our label. he has been releasing under different monikers, which have been subjected to quite a lot of variations. he meanwhile found a coherent foundation of a rough, hypnotic and gritty sound. coming along with the process of discovering the most genuine way of expression, he focused on analogue gear. “waveforms are not only a mathematical law, waveforms are everywhere, in all sections of everyday life, in light and in sound. parallel is one of the many parallel universes out there, living and believing in variety, whilst pointing onto respect for various life forms. we do what we love”.

polyop was formed in 2015 by producers jack driscoll, harry orso and visual artist and programmer alex kempton. since then they have been researching and developing a visual-audio experience that fuses nature and tribal culture with the machine. ceremony is the first exploration of that aesthetic, with their own take on acid house, they take the subject on a hypnotic journey through an alternate sonic-visual reality. kemp mutates ceremony into something between disco and techno, the kick and bassline thick and pulsing, whilst the percussion syncopates infectiously. the track progresses into a crescendo, which is amplified by the cavernous feel of the mix. this is certain to hypnotise 3am dancefloor-pagans into a state of worship.

the 3rd release on proletarijat is about to continue the story about sev dah’s vision of todays values of techno. mental and driving but simple and yet emotional is the concept of proletarijat003, and sev dah did the job on the a side with -pledge- - the synth is hypnotising but yet forward going, a true techno banger that’s order is to transform your reality.
-the universal mother- on a2 is an emotional experimental/ambient vision of unity and brotherhood.
b side’s -sloga- is the more simple side of 003 but also the most powerful story that sev is telling here.

real d, jus jam, kerstone and robin riccitiello joined forces with the creative director morning gradient to launch a vinyl label : khasia hills. located in meghalaya in eastern india, the khasi hills are hosting some of the most majestuous palm trees in the world. for its first release, the french record label has been willing to serve 4 house traxx of its founders with a strong themed artwork.

sos gunver ryberg, aïsha devi, rrose and paula temple are the four artists collaborating for decon/recon 2. the new record will be released as limited edition vinyl on noise manifesto. in this collaboration series, each artist has produced a track from all the artists sounds, yet the release credits all four artists equally on all four tracks. it is a symbolic act for reducing hierarchy, ego attachment in identity, preferring instead to shift the focus towards affinity. paula temple describes the bond in this second collaboration as every artist in this release approaches their creative energy particularly connected towards a more shamanistic mindset. when you listen to the progression of their music, it feels like the physical and mental realms we accept as reality and function within are being stripped away. maybe that is weird to say about underground dance music, but i find the journeys each of these artists take you on are very exciting in how they affect you.

sdx is the producer alias of our resident dj beni, who delivered finest detroit techno for our catalogue number 008. catalogue number 009 comes with special remixes by legend rolando, known from labels like ostgut ton, underground resistance or deslin & max durante, known from sonig groove & diffuse reality. the original track the day she asks for forgiveness is a slowly building percussive 808 banger, built around a short vocal sample. rolando comes with a special minimalistic dj tool track. we are sure this remix will find place in lots of dj sets. max durante comes with a straight forward techno remix in his best own style. the third and last track of the record is a special bonus breakbeat track made by sdx himself. clitchy sounds and a special mood will bring you directly into another dimension. be prepared

monologue plays out like a novel, where the abernathy’s expand the perception of family over ab’s expansion of the stripped down soul/r&b music we’re used to hearing. whether he’s playing piano, wurlitzer, synths, guitar, programming drums, live drums, or arranging strings and horn lines, ab’s mastery of musicianship is on full display through monologue’s array of colorful, complex compositions, coupled with his rich, layered vocals.

the israeli producer yotam avni, though not one of the main players in the stroboscopic artefacts story to date, nevertheless shows that he is definitely here for a reason: having contributed with an entry in the monad series back in july, he returns with a new set of tracks that fit perfectly into the labels overall aesthetic of evolving hyper-reality, while also being a strong personal statement.
